My Experience

I am pleased to share my intention to run for a seat on the CVUSD school board this November. With nearly 40 years of combined experience working as a teacher, school counselor and basketball coach, I believe I will bring relevant and valuable experience and perspective to the school board that will benefit students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders.

  • Former elementary and middle school and high school teacher and basketball ball coach with 18 combined years experience
  • Retired school counselor with more than 19 years work experience
  • As a district Special Ed Counselor, wrote, developed IEP social and emotional counseling goals, and counseled students in more than 24 schools each week
  • Former IEP, 504, and SST facilitator (Kyrene
  • Former athletic director, college counselor and testing coordinator
  • Volunteered Counseling students and families at District’s Break Through Counseling Center

  • Master’s degree in Education Administration and Supervision (CSUN)
  • Master’s degree in Counseling (CLU)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (Penn State University)
  • Former President CA School Counselor Association

For more than four years now, I’ve been volunteering within the district to make a positive impact for our students. In order to have a better understanding of what needs can be addressed, as well as what excellent school benefits the schools in our district provide, I make an effort to tour school campuses as well as visit parent information nights. I also volunteered counseling students and parents at CVUSD’s Break Through Counseling Center.

District Committees on which I serve:

  • District Bond I Oversight (formal meetings and campus site inspections) 4 years
  • District Wellness

District Meetings Attended:

  • Board Meetings (I have attended almost every one for last four years)
  • DAC meetings
  • GATEDAC meetings
  •  SEDAC

In May 2018, the Unified Association of Conejo Teachers (UACT) announced its endorsement of my candidacy for school board.
